Our Projects
Here are our projects in Conserving Water

Project 1. Wastewater reuse
Greywater is gently used water from your bathroom sinks, showers, tubs, and washing machines. It is not water that has come into contact with feces, either from the toilet or from washing diapers. (https://greywateraction.org/greywater-reuse/).
Greywater can be directly diverted from the shower or bathroom sink for toilet flushing as long as it is used immediately and not stored for more than 24 hours beforereuse or disposal to sewer. It requires coarse filtration.(http://www.yourhome.gov.au/water/wastewater-reuse).

Project 2. Conserving Water While You Brush
Turn Off the Tap
Turning off the water between wetting your toothbrush and rinsing your mouth is one of the simplest and most effective ways to save water while brushing your teeth. The University of Illinois calculates that shutting off the tap instead of letting it run continuously will save your family up to 10 gallons of water daily (https://www.solsticebenefits. com/resources /resources-article.aspx?id=13).
Use A Cup
Instead of filling your hands with water to rinse your mouth after brushing your teeth, (this act wastes water as the tap runs while your hands are away from the faucet) -- use a cup (https://www.solstice benefits.com/resource s/resources-article.aspx?id=13).

Project 3. Hand-washing dishes
Save water while washing your hands
The average American washes his or her hands nearly 9 times per day. If you follow guidelines to scrub your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds, you could save at least 6 gallons per day by turning off the tap while you scrub (https://sustainability.ncsu.edu/blog/changeyourstate/6-times-you-should-turn-off-the-tap-to-save-water/)
Save water while washing dishes
An energy-efficient dishwasher typically uses as little as 4 gallons of water per cycle, whereas hand washing can use up to 20 gallons. Just make sure you only run the dishwasher when it is full (https://sustainability.ncsu.edu/blog/changeyourstate/6-times-you-should-turn-off-the-tap-to-save-water/)
